国际关系学院“英语辩论”系列活动报道二

The secondmeeting of “English Debating”，SIR 2019 Fall

2019年10月15日星期二晚7：30-9:00时，国际关系学院外教Zaki和Reed与同学们再次相约A栋教学楼，探索与体验辩论的美妙。

两位老师从暖场活动“选立场”开始，鼓励同学们从多角度思考同一问题，本期话题是：鼓励市民“错峰出行”的短信是最佳方案，应该继续执行（The text message to Chongqing locals is the best solution. It shouldbe sent again for future national holidays.）该话题源自国庆小长假期间重庆市民收到“”错峰出行“的建议短信；同学们在老师引导下从多角度考虑这一事件的发生原因，并积极思考解决方案；最后，同学们基于思考与讨论内容进行了辩论实操。本次活动有25名同学参加，16人参与辩论，7人作为观察员观摩辩论，为下一轮辩论实操做准备。

该活动的所有联络，组织，反思环节均由学生自愿者团队利用课余时间独立完成，国关院视听说教研室团队的老师们利用课余时间，指导学生志愿者细化方案，沟通细节，参与方案具体实施，师生精诚合作，促成了活动顺利进行。

Twenty-fivestudents from SIR met Zaki and Reed in Teaching Bldg A on Tuesday, Oct. 15, to continuethe fun journey of debating. Starting with “Picking Your Side”, the activity guidedstudents to perceive issues from different perspectives.

Topic this week is:The text message to Chongqing locals is the best solution. It should be sentagain for future national holidays. The topic was inspired by the recent newsthat text message was sent to CQ citizens, calling on them to avoid visitingpopular tourists sites during the National Day holiday. It was estimated later thatCQ received over 38 million visits in the 7-day-long holiday. Student debaterswere encouraged to provide their opinions regarding the cause and solution tothe problem as well as think from different perspectives.

Aiming todevelop students’ critical thinking as well as improve students’ languageability, this activity is co-organized by SIR Audio-Listening-Speaking Teachingand Research Group and students volunteers.
